Job Description
Legal Counsel, Derivatives (Chinese Financial institution)
Responsibilities

Support head of legal on all legal matters relating to the business unit of FICC/Asset Management

Assist in the preparation of documents to launch a hedge fund or a private equity fund which invests in the global markets

Responsible for the execution of investments and coordinating with external counsel, banks and various other parties to ensure legal agreement are in proper order

Manage the implementation and enforcement of internal company policies and external laws and regulations (ie SFC /HKEX requirements)

Perform ad hoc duties as and when necessary delegated by the Head of legal
Requirements

University degree holder in LLB/LLM with a recognized university in common law jurisdictions

Qualified lawyer with 5 years post qualified experiences in private practice or in-house financial institutions in any common law jurisdictions (i.e. Hong Kong or Singapore or Australia) or experienced paralegal with substantial hands-on experience gained in major international law firms focusing in derivatives/securities laws/fund management/set up

Thorough understanding in all types of Master Agreement (i.e. ISDA, CSA, GMRA, Prime brokerage Agreement etc.)

Solid experience in handling structured note program and offshore SPC for structuring derivatives and structured products

Familiar with relevant securities laws in relation to sale and distribution of derivatives /structured products in Hong Kong, and other jurisdictions in Asia;

Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin)
