Legal Counsel, Derivatives (Chinese Financial institution)

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Support head of legal on all legal matters relating to the business unit of FICC/Asset Management

  • Assist in the preparation of documents to launch a hedge fund or a private equity fund which invests in the global markets

  • Responsible for the execution of investments and coordinating with external counsel, banks and various other parties to ensure legal agreement are in proper order

  • Manage the implementation and enforcement of internal company policies and external laws and regulations (ie SFC /HKEX requirements)

  • Perform ad hoc duties as and when necessary delegated by the Head of legal

 

Requirements

  • University degree holder in LLB/LLM with a recognized university in common law jurisdictions

  • Qualified lawyer with 5 years post qualified experiences in private practice or in-house financial institutions in any common law jurisdictions (i.e. Hong Kong or Singapore or Australia) or experienced paralegal with substantial hands-on experience gained in major international law firms focusing in derivatives/securities laws/fund management/set up

  • Thorough understanding in all types of Master Agreement (i.e. ISDA, CSA, GMRA, Prime brokerage Agreement etc.)

  • Solid experience in handling structured note program and offshore SPC for structuring derivatives and structured products

  • Familiar with relevant securities laws in relation to sale and distribution of derivatives /structured products in Hong Kong, and other jurisdictions in Asia;

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin)
