Overview
Our client, a prestigious investment banking is looking for a Research Analyst

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for daily flow work support and maintenance
  • Maintain effective two-way dialogue with all stakeholders and related parties
  • Build, automate and maintain systematic tools for research data flow
  • Research, design, implement and improve existing quantitative models
  • Recognize clients’ research needs and provide suitable datasets/models
  • Develop creative client solutions for potential business area

Requirements
  • Excellent quantitative skills, with a bachelor’s degree in a highly quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics and economics. Master’s/PhD a strong plus
  • 2-5 years analyst experience in quantitative research in an investment bank or investment management firm or major data vendor
  • Strong programming skills, Python is a must with experience using, R, VBA, Matlab, Java, C++/C#. Knowledge in Web scrapping with Beautiful Soup, Selenium and Web development in Django, Node.js is a plus but not required
  • Proven experience in working with large complex datasets. Past experiences in Database construction and SQL knowledge is required
  • Creative thinking and strong problem solving skills
  • Experience in major data providers such as Bloomberg, FactSet, CEIC etc.
  • Strong verbal and communications skills, able to articulate ideas clearly to internal/external clients
  • Keen interest in researching new quantitative models for predictions and backtesting
  • Client-facing experience a plus
  • Knowledge/experience in machine learning, factor models and cloud computing a plus
  • Knowledge/experience in portfolio management concepts such as performance attribution, factor risk models and portfolio construction a plus
  • Fluency in English and Cantonese. Proficiency in Mandarin preferred
